Elementary Counselor
Amy Ball
I am a 2003 graduate of Missouri State University- Springfield where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I immediately began working at Fairview Elementary and, later, earned a Master of Science in Elementary Counseling in 2012. I completed my School Psychological Examiner Certification in 2015.
As the counselor for preschool through 3rd grade students, I assist students in learning the academic, career, and social/emotional skills and attitudes necessary to be successful. Mrs. Menz and I work closely to help meet the needs of all students. I am also the District Testing Coordinator, as well as, the Homeless liaison and Migrant liaison. I recognize and value the importance of family involvement and communication between the school and home. Middle School Counselor
Amelia Menz
Hello Fairview R-XI,
My name is Amelia Menz & I am thrilled to join Fairview R-XI for the 2026-2027 school year as your School Counselor, supporting students in 4th through 8th grade!
I began my career as the K-12 school counselor at Climax R-IV before spending the past eight years serving the families of Dora R-III. With a decade of experience as a Missouri school counselor, I have advanced training in mental health support, college/career readiness, academic planning, animal-assisted therapy & data-informed counseling practices.
My goal is simple: to make sure every child knows they have someone in their corner while encouraging them to grow, overcome the hard stuff & believe in themselves. I love walking alongside families as their child navigates life's challenges to building the confidence, resilience & healthy relationships they need to thrive at school & beyond.
Don't be surprised if you're greeted by my favorite coworker, Holly! She recently decided retirement wasn't for her, so she'll be on campus a day or two a week. We've been a certified therapy animal team through CARES, Inc. since 2018 & she is excited to once again provide a calming presence, unconditional love & a little extra comfort to students & staff who need it most.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Chad (a proud Fairview alum) & our son, Bode (a Fairview 2nd grader), listening to audiobooks & helping run the books on our family's farm. I believe some of the strongest schools are built on meaningful relationships, & I'm excited to get to know not only our students but also the families & community that make Fairview so special. I can't wait to partner with you to help every student feel safe, supported, valued & empowered to reach their full potential.
